The Serum Run to Nome, also known as the Great Race of Mercy, took place in 1925. A relay of dog sled teams transported diphtheria antitoxin serum across Alaska to combat an outbreak in Nome, inspiring the annual Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

Scottish inventor John Logie Baird successfully demonstrated the transmission of moving images, an early form of mechanical television, in 1925. This was a significant step toward the development of modern television.
