Calhoun Courts

Home to first-year and continuing students, Calhoun Courts is an apartment community in a great location beside the Barnes Center and across from Bryan Mall and the Hendrix Student Center. These two-bedroom apartments house four people each with spacious living rooms and kitchens. Community amenities include volleyball and basketball courts, laundry and vending machines, and a commons building with a large social room.

Benet

Benet Hall is part of the Shoebox community, which is your best choice for affordable residence halls packed with features. With easy access to dining, recreation, Death Valley and West Campus classes, the location is one of the best on campus. The Shoeboxes allow for close-knit communities with only 140 students in each building and great common space. There are recreation areas between the buildings and lounges throughout the halls. Each room features a sink and walk-in closets.

Emily - Food Science and Human Nutrition - Class of '26

As a food science and human nutrition student, Emily Evans has taken advantage of professional development through Creative Inquiry undergraduate research projects and on- and off-campus internships. She has had the opportunity to experiment with food production and development, creating new flavors and ingredients, and even trying some of her own creations.

The Star

The star on the shank commemorates the lives of Clemson students who lost their lives in wars, beginning with the Spanish-American War.

Douthit Hills West

Home to a limited number of continuing students, Douthit Hills West offers a variety of options, with studio, double and quad apartments. Douthit West offers stunning views of campus, a water deck and lounge areas. The nearby Douthit Hills Hub includes a dining hall, a full fitness center, the campus bookstore and several retail dining options.

Byrnes Hall

A newly renovated high-rise in the Bryan Mall community, Byrnes Hall is centrally located near Hendrix Student Center, Schilletter Dining Hall and retail dining options. Residents have access to a lounge area on the ground floor with space for both studying and recreation.

Drew - Construction Science and Management - Class of '26

Drew Hahn came to Clemson from Indiana for the top-ranked construction science and management program and the professors he met on his campus visit, who showed him what the Clemson community could look like supporting him. He’s left his mark on campus as a construction intern remodeling residence halls that future Tigers will live in for years to come.

The Palmetto

The palmetto tree along with the "C" were added to the onyx stone on the ring design in 1901. The palmetto symbolizes the roots of the school's heritage in South Carolina.

The Eagle

President Woodrow Wilson created the ROTC programs for all land-grant colleges to take part in pre-WWI training. The federal government paid for uniforms and weapons, so the University felt they should recognize that by adding an eagle to one of the shanks in 1906.
