The Motto

The state seal on the ring reads "Dum Spiro Spero," which is Latin for "While I breathe, I hope" as well as "Quis Separatis," which translates to "Who Shall Separate Us?"

Young

Young Hall is part of the Shoebox community, which is your best choice for affordable residence halls packed with features. With easy access to dining, recreation, Death Valley and West Campus classes, the location is one of the best on campus. The Shoeboxes allow for close-knit communities with only 140 students in each building and great common space. There are recreation areas between the buildings and lounges throughout the halls. Each room features a sink and walk-in closets.

Thornhill Village

Thornhill Village is a duplex-style apartment community, home to many of our Bridge to Clemson residents. These quad apartments house four residents each in two shared bedrooms and offer plenty of green space, on-site parking, and easy access to Bryan Mall, Schilletter Dining Hall and the Hendrix Student Center.

The Quad

The Quad offers double-occupancy rooms and a few single rooms. Students will live with their fellow fraternity and sorority members on their own designated hall. Each fraternity and sorority has its own private lounge area, providing an atmosphere that supports communal living and academic success. Quad residents must live in University housing for at least one semester.

Smith Hall

Smith’s second and third floor is designated as a first-year hall, while the remaining floors are home to some of our campus sororities. A low-rise located in the heart of the Bryan Mall community, Smith offers easy access to Hendrix Student Center, Redfern Health Center, Schilletter Dining Hall and a host of retail dining locations.

Sanders Hall

Mickel Hall

Limited only to RISE participants, Mickel Hall offers modern suite-style units with amazing views. Overlooking Death Valley, Mickel is perfect for football fans and anyone looking for a luxury space. Spacious lounges with huge windows give residents a great place to watch a game, relax, hang out with friends and study.

McCabe Hall

McCabe Hall offers a great location with a vibrant social center and common areas. With easy access to Cooper Library, West Campus dining options and Death Valley, residents are right in the center of campus. McCabe offers suite-style bathrooms right off your room that you only share with three other people.

Mauldin Hall

A low-rise in the Bryan Mall community, Mauldin Hall is located right in the middle of everything with Hendrix Student Center, Schilletter Dining Hall and plenty of retail dining options right next door. With only 144 residents in the building and a common lounge area on the ground floor, Mauldin offers a more close-knit community and a central location to campus life.

Lightsey Bridge II

Lightsey Bridge II is a Bridge to Clemson community across from the South Carolina Botanical Gardens. These four-bedroom apartments house four people each with spacious living rooms and kitchens. The Lightsey Bridge commons building features laundry and vending along with Bridge to Clemson and staff offices.
